Verified membership terms

1. The agreement

These terms govern membership of the Expert Roofer Verified scheme, run by Expert Roofers. Membership provides:

• a verified profile on expertroofer.co.uk;
• a licence to display the Expert Roofer Verified badge, under the badge use terms;
• inclusion in the verified member directory and search;
• a consolidated rating built from the member's independently published reviews.

Membership does not guarantee leads or work. The scheme verifies credentials; it does not promise any volume of enquiries.

2. Applications

All information supplied in an application must be true. Supplying false information is grounds for refusing the application, or for removal later if the dishonesty comes to light after verification, whenever that is.

3. Verification and data

To verify a member we inspect photographic ID of the business owner, current public liability insurance documentation, independent review profiles, and evidence of trading history or work history covering at least ten years, as set out in the membership standards.

We record that each check passed and the date it passed. We do not publish the documents themselves. The member's business contact details (name, address and phone number) are published on the profile with the member's agreement. Personal data is handled in line with our privacy policy.

4. Term and renewal

Membership runs for 12 months from the verification date. Renewal is not automatic: it requires passing re-verification, with all four checks re-run. Profiles show the latest verification date.

5. Suspension and termination

Members can be suspended or removed as set out in the membership standards: failing re-verification, lapsed insurance, upheld serious complaints under the complaints procedure, or dishonesty in an application. On removal, the profile page is taken down and the badge licence ends immediately.

6. Liability

The scheme verifies credentials at a point in time. We are not liable for members' work, and verification is not a guarantee of any individual piece of work. Contracts for roofing work are strictly between the consumer and the member, and nothing in the scheme makes us a party to them.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Members will be given notice of changes, and the current version is always published at this address with its version number and date shown at the top.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
