Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of expertroofer.co.uk and our free quote-matching service. By using the site, you agree to them.
Last updated: July 2026
1. Who we are and what this site does
Expert Roofers ("we", "us", "our") publishes roofing information for UK homeowners and operates a free service that introduces homeowners to vetted local roofing companies. We are an information and introduction service. We are not a roofing contractor and we do not carry out roofing work.
2. Information is guidance, not a quotation
Everything published on this site, including cost guides, the cost calculator, problem-diagnosis articles and material comparisons, is general guidance. It is not a formal quotation, a survey of your property or professional advice about your specific roof. Always obtain a written, itemised quote from a qualified roofer before committing to any work.
3. Cost figures are averages and estimates
Our cost figures are researched ranges built from contractor rates and trade price lists, updated periodically. Real prices vary with roof size, condition, access, materials, region and market conditions, and can fall outside our published ranges. We do our best to keep figures current and realistic, but we do not guarantee that any roofer will quote within them.
4. The quote service
When you submit a quote request, we pass your details to up to three vetted roofing companies that cover your area, who will contact you directly. Vetting means we check insurance, company records and recent work references at the time a company joins the network. It is not a guarantee of the quality, price, timing or outcome of any work.
You are under no obligation to accept any quote, and the roofers are under no obligation to quote every job. The service is free for homeowners; roofing companies pay us for introductions, which does not affect the prices you are quoted.
5. Contracts for work are between you and the roofer
Any contract for roofing work is made strictly and solely between you and the roofing company you engage. We are not a party to that contract, we do not supervise the work and we do not handle payments between you and the roofer. Disputes about workmanship, price, delay or anything else arising from the work must be resolved with the roofer directly, supported by whatever guarantees, insurance and consumer rights apply to your contract with them.
6. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for work carried out, or not carried out, by any third-party roofing company, for the accuracy of quotes given to you by roofers, or for losses arising from reliance on the general guidance published on this site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false, misleading or third-party information through our forms without authority;
- use the site or the quote service to send spam, scrape data or harvest contact details;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
- reproduce substantial parts of our content commercially without written permission. Quoting brief extracts with a link and credit is fine.
We may refuse or withdraw access to the quote service where we reasonably suspect misuse.
8. Intellectual property
The content, design and branding of this site belong to Expert Roofers or our licensors. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes; all other rights are reserved.
9. Third-party links
Where we link to external websites, we are not responsible for their content or how they handle your data.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except where consumer law entitles you to bring proceedings elsewhere in the UK.
